Thanks To Everyone Who Made the Golf Tournament a Success!

The Golf Tournament at Reems Creek was an astounding success! We had over 80 golfers come out to enjoy the perfect weather. Thanks to a very hard working, dedicated team of GAL’s we raised over $19,000 for our kids!!!  Hats off to Chair, Joni Marion for her drive and dedication!

Kudos to the Golf Committee: Joni Marion ( Chair), Barbara Binder, Diane Cast , Christine Mills, Shari Raife, Charlie Taylor and Anne and  Terry Yeager. These folks worked very hard for months to make this all come together.

On hand to help yesterday were our photographer Lori Herlin, Judy  Butler ( who also brought in 2 major contributors), Chris Grant, Diane Cast, Jennifer  Neilson, Ava and Cathy Neilson , Charlie Taylor , Sue Thompson and Ann and Terry Yeager. These people made sure things ran smoothly, sold more raffle tickets and handled all the little details that crop up in an event of this size. Hats off to a great group.

I am thrilled that the hard work done by this team for our kids netted such outstanding results. I am excited that we will be able to do so much more for the children we serve in the coming year.

Continuing Education Event – May 26, 2016

The next Continuing Education Program will be held for you May 26 at the Universalist Unitarian Church at the corner of Charlotte and Edwin.

The topics to be presented:

The Comprehensive Care Center will be a one stop shop located in Asheville and will provide: mental health and substance abuse outpatient services, a Mobile Crisis Management Team, detox services, a community pharmacy, and family support and other services offered by the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Partners include RHA, Mission Hospital, Buncombe County, ABCCM, and Smoky Mountain LME/MCO. The overall goal is to better serve people with mental health and substance abuse issues rather than sending them to the emergency room or jail.

Join us from 12-1:30.  Some snacks will be available and bring your lunch if you wish.

If you still owe your $15 2016 dues, please bring cash or a check made out to BCGALA.
